North Wales

This Halloween we are opening our doors to HQ for an evening of ghoulish fun On Monday 29th October we will be hosting a Spooktacular event at North Wales Police Headquarters. Between 5.30pm - 8pm we will be hosting an evening of spooky activities and competitions. It will be your chance to meet the police and our colleagues from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service / Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub Gogledd Cymru. Entry is FREE and there are lots of prizes to be won. We will be running the following competitions: Fancy Dress Competition Come to the event in your scariest Halloween costume. Judging will take place at approximately 6.30pm so please ensure you arrive by 6.15pm. Bring Your Carved Pumpkin Competition Bring along your ready carved pumpkin and put it on display with all the others. to enter please ensure your bring your pumpkin by 6.15pm and the winners will be announced later in the evening. Don't forget to pick up your pumpkin before you go home ready to display on Halloween. Colouring Competition Colour in our Halloween poster (Download link will be here shortly) for your chance to win a goody bag. To enter all you need to do is download and print the poster, colour it in and either bring it to the event or take a picture and share it with us on Social Media using #NWPcompetition. Closing date is midnight 31st October and the winner will be announced on 2nd November via social media. As well as the competitions we will have: Badge Making Fingerprint Keyrings PhotoBooth Crime Prevention Advice. Have you ever thought how ghosts keep their costumes so clean for Halloween? Come and listen to the story in a performance in the Caban, our outdoors public art installation, and to take part in a craft workshop for the whole family.

Wear your Halloween fancy dress and bring a coat to keep warm. This is an event for the whole family and parents will also need to order a ticket and stay with their children.

The Pumpkin Patch first opened in 2012 and has grown bigger each year. It’s great fun for everyone with literally thousands of pumpkins to choose from. There’s big ones, little ones, orange ones and white ones all grown here at Brooksgrove Farm – it’s quite a spectacle. At Brooksgrove Farm we also run a Daffodils by Post service giving you the chance to send a unique gift of our Pembrokeshire Daffodils to someone special.

Bring your junior adventurers for a treasure hunt in the stunning Gnoll Park. We will start the session off with a game to help us learn the four main points of a compass, then we'll check out our treasure maps and our clues and set off on our hunt. Our junior adventurers will be leading the navigation using compass directions to help us find the way to our hidden treasure. We will stop for a picnic on the way so please bring a packed lunch. As the weather is getting colder please ensure your children have suitable clothing and footwear for the weather conditions. This session will be particularly suitable for children between 5 and 10 years old. As our treasure will be sweets and chocolate for each child please advise of any dietary requirements so that we can cater for you.

Newport pebble art will be holding a spooky pebble decorating workshop at the Fourteen Locks Canal Centre on Monday 29th October from 10am – 3pm. Jaime will explain to help create something unique and transfer ideas onto your personalised pebble, you do not have to stick to a Halloween theme. The workshop is for all ages, costs £3 per person and includes 3 pebbles and decorating equipment. The drop in workshop will be held in the meeting room and typically takes 45 mins. Any extra pebbles will be an additional cost of 50p with Jaime. A small waiting time may occur if the room is full to capacity at drop in time. Please pay and collect your entrance ticket on the day at the desk before starting the workshop.

Chepstow's Big Family Dog Walk 2018 in aid of the Guide Dogs

Come and join us this October with your four legged friends and family, get muddy and help raise money for the Guide Dogs.

The walk will take place around Piercefield Park and Chepstow Racecourse, and will consist of a 5k route. Don't worry if you don't want to walk the whole 5k, a shorter route around the Racecourse is available.

Tickets cost just £5 in advance per person with £2.50 from each ticket sold will be donated to the Guide Dogs. Each booking will receive a certificate to say they help raise money for the Guide Dogs in 2018. Under 14's go free. Please note that tickets must be booked in advance of the day.

On the day we shall have a mini 'Best in Show' competition. This will take place at 1pm on the old pre parade ring lawn. The will be a special rosette for the best large breed, medium breed and small breed dog with an overall Best in Show Winner, winning a 'Perfect Fit Harness' voucher. Entrance is £2 on the day.

Welcome to Slime Lab Monmouth, Slimetacular edition workshop owned and managed by Stacy Seabourne. 

Come along and get slimey on Tuesday 30th October at Shire Hall, Monmouth.

Join us for our spooky Halloween edition of Slime Lab from the creators of the biggest messy play around, Mess Around Hereford! We have been dabbling in slime for a while and the time has finally come to bring you our Slimetacular workshop to you lovely lot.

Aimed at ( but not exclusive to) children ages 5-11 years old your Slime fanatics will spend 90 minutes creating two slime pots, experiment with slime handing, join our Slime stretching competition and hang out with some new pals!

What time should we arrive? The session starts at 2.00pm, please arrive 5 minutes prior for registration. The session will finish at 3.30pm . We will provide an apron and wipes but please try and remind your children to wear old clothes and tie up long hair. Your confirmation email will include all the slimey details.
